China Grove, named for a grove of Chinaberry trees, is more commonly known for its Farmers Day Festival. This special event began in 1982 to honor the local farmers by inviting them to bring their produce to sell at a farmers market. Farmers Day has grown to become one of the best street festivals in North Carolina with attendance estimated at over 25,000 visitors. Farmers Day is held the third Saturday in July.

Kings Mt. Revolutionary 4th

Celebrating Independence Day is always a patriotic event in Kings Mountain. In honor of the turning point of the Revolutionary War’s Battle of Kings Mountain (fought just south of town), a gathering of over 20 Revolutionary re-enactor militias will be camped prior to Friday and Saturday’s celebration. This is the largest fireworks show between Charlotte and Asheville. There will be patriotic music and a parade with a large mock cannon battle prior to the fireworks.

The Town of Troy will host the 32nd Annual TroyFest on Saturday, July 1, 2017 – fun, family event to enjoy in celebration of Independence Day. The event kicks-off with a parade at 10:00am. There will be vendors, games, food trucks, live music throughout the day, inflatable kids’ zone, and more. Later, at 5:30pm visitors are invited to Lowe-Warner Park to enjoy live music, food trucks, vendors, ice cream, and the best small town firework show in North Carolina.
